Our community is a community of faith. Clergy and parishioners from various denominations
live and work together in a spirit of unity and love.
The Perryton Ministerial Alliance seeks to bring people of all faiths and backgrounds together and organizes numerous joint services throughout the year, including an annual Thanksgiving Service, a yearly praise and worship musical production featuring a combined choir of participating churches, a National Day of Prayer Service, and Easter Sunrise Service, and once a month Sunday evening celebration of praise service in the summer months of June, July and August.
The Perryton Ministerial Alliance and the Perryton Musical Arts Foundation team
up
each year to host the performance of Handel's Messiah. 2006 marked the 53rd year
for this most holy tradition. The event is held in the fabulous First United Methodist
Church and features local and area talent as well as musicians from the Amarillo
Symphony.
A charitable organization, the Alliance Food Pantry, distributes food to families in need throughout the year. A special food basket is given during the Christmas holidays.
The Waka Christian Center (16 miles west of Perryton on Hwy. 15) is a Christian Retreat
Center where family reunions, youth meetings, Walks to Emmaus, gospel sings, and
various other meetings occur. WCC is fully contained with overnight accommodations,
